There’s a chair here for you.
Counseling for adults with anxiety, burnout and grief, in Richmond’s Fan District or online in Virginia.
People rarely start therapy with a diagnosis. They start with a moment like one of these.
If one of these made you pause, that’s reason enough to call. You don’t need the right words yet.
Each page explains what it can feel like, how I work with it, what a first session looks like and what it costs.

In my office on Grove Avenue, most mornings.
Hi, I’m Hazel.
For eleven years I’ve sat across from people who are used to being the steady one: nurses, teachers, parents, people who look fine from the outside.
My job isn’t to fix you. It’s to help you understand what’s going on, feel less alone with it, and find a way forward that fits your actual life. Sessions are calm, honest and sometimes funny. You set the pace, and you never have to share more than you want to.

Starting is simpler than it feels.
A free 15-minute call
By phone or video. You tell me a little about what’s going on, ask anything you like, and we see if we’re a good fit. No forms, no pressure.
Your first session
Fifty minutes, in my office or online. We talk about what brought you here and what you’d like to be different. You decide how much to share.
Then, at your pace
Most people come weekly at first, then every other week. You can pause or stop anytime, and if someone else would suit you better, I’ll help you find them.
No guessing and no awkward phone call to find out. Fees are the same in person and online.
